It’s never too late to learn to swim! This class is for beginner-level teens to learn basic swimming skills with other students their age.

Wish you could swim better? This is the perfect opportunity to learn. Classes are for beginner-level swimmers or those with minimal formal instruction.

Learn and practice the basics of kayaking and stand-up paddleboard (SUP) in the warm and controlled environment of Bender Pool. All equipment is provided. You bring swimwear and wear it in the pool. Experienced paddlers will share their skill and enthusiasm with the beginners and those who wish to improve their own abilities.

Demonstrate your knowledge and skill competency with little or no review. Current lifeguard certification is required. Successful completion of this class renews your lifeguard, first aid, CPR-P, and AED certifications. Bring a suit and towel. Class begins at Northwest Recreation Center.

Returning students will be automatically placed based on their most recent swim level—no extra steps needed.
New to swim lessons? We’ve got you covered! A quick 5–8 minute evaluation will be done at the start of the first class to help us find the best level for your child.
